Senior Java Developer, New York, NY, Permanent

We are looking for talented, highly-motivated Senior Java Developers for challenging projects to create sophisticated RIA (Rich Internet Applications) for exciting business opportunities.

Main Duties:

• Create sophisticated, visually compelling solutions for our clients
• Help teams transition from a proprietary web development framework to best-of-breed Open Source tools including GWT, Spring, and Hibernate
• Earn a high degree of individual responsibility
• Work in a development environment where mastering the software engineering discipline is highly valued

The following skills, knowledge and experience are required for this position unless noted otherwise:

• 5+ years of Java and OO Analysis and Design experience
• 5+ years experience with the full SDLC including production support for medium-to-large-scale applications
• Experience implementing software solutions that utilize Web Services and XML
• Experience writing SQL
• Experience using Eclipse and CVS
• Data modelling experience
• Knowledge of MVC architecture
• Ability to design solutions that adhere to architectural guidelines and best practices
• Ability to implement high quality code
• Ability to maintain existing software as well as develop new software
• Ability to take responsibility for features and components
• Clear written and oral communications
• Ability to transfer knowledge and provide guidance to other developers
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and present solution options
• Ability to analyze requirements and test plans and provide constructive feedback
• Ability to build productive relationships across groups and within the technical team
