Director of Technology
Fast growing and dynamic company has an immediate need for a Director of Technology. In this role, you will report to the VP and manage a team of about 7 development individuals. This is a great position for a person who wants to lead technical strategy, development, deployment and innovation across all client accounts for the company here in the US. You will work hand in hand with the Creative Team to provide strategic direction for the experience department and the company as a whole. This position requires client interaction in order to provide insights and develop and implement technical strategies and innovations. You must be able to get "in the work as needed" and operate with a pragmatic, hands-on approach to problem solving as needed.
It is important that you are hands-on and still can look at a line of code and know what can be improved, etc. They simply want a true C-level leader but at the same time , someone who remembers how to do the work of the individuals he/she is managing.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate client needs and develop and present proposals that meet consumer and client expectations within execution parameters.
- Architect solutions with Tech Leads that range from Front End web deployments to platform level solutions.
- Guide overall project development, monitoring progress and solving problems towards successful deliverables.
- Help teams employ best practices and enforce coding quality standards
- C ollaborate with Creative, Strategy, Client Services and Project Management to deliver best-in-class digital experiences.
- Mentor and guide team members, identify and hire new technical employees, nurture and motivate technical team
- Travel 10-20 for client interaction as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven history of technology management experience worki ng on digital applications
- Experience with various projects types, which can include web, mobile, video, retail, brand or strategic consulting.
- Managed interdisciplinary teams of at least 5, ideally 10.
- Hands-on knowledge of key programming languages, such as Java, PHP, Javascript, Objective-C/Cocoa.
- Proven ability to innovate by combining technologies in novel ways
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Deep understanding of technical work-flow and project management
- System architecture experience would be a big plus, including Cloud services, CMS
