Senior Cognos Developer, Franklin Lakes, NJ, Contract

Our client has embarked upon a multi-year effort to implement the full suite of SAP functionality across all business segments and geographic regions with a single Global Design. This individual will support the conversion of data from multiple Legacy R/3 and non-SAP systems into SAP ECC 6.0 and New Dimension environments. He/she will be instrumental in the definition of requirements, development, testing and documenting of IBM Cognos reports used to verify Legacy data migrated through the use of IBM DataStage ETL programs. This position requires a broad technical knowledge of IBM Cognos report development and a demonstrated understanding of custom Cognos report and Framework development. He/she brings knowledge and experience integrating Cognos reports with Oracle Stored procedures, framework development, report development and Query Studio.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work with Data Analysts to understand their data verification requirements and develo p custom Cognos reports to support their requirements
• Work with on-shore/off-shore Cognos development resources to complete necessary development, documentation, and testing based on a defined delivery date for completing the work
• Help to identify ways to provide operational reports/dashboards to provide an overall ''view'' of the data load execution status
• Work with the ETL Team to diagnose issues/improve 'standard' Cognos reports that leverage Oracle Stored procedures to return data for verification
• Work on documenting/testing standard Cognos Reports to ensure that validation documents are achieved
• Help to facilitate the integration of IBM Cognos with HP Quality Center and MS SharePoint lists to provide a unified picture of data load execution

Skills/Education Required:

• A BS degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related technical field
• Cognos Certifications: Documented IBM Cog

Work Experience:

• 5+ years of Cognos Report Writer, Framework, and Query Studio Technical Development experience
• Experience with Oracle Stored Procedure development/Cognos integration is a strong plus
• Experience integrating Cognos with SharePoint is a plus
