Database Engineering Manager, Lyndhurst, NJ, Contract

Kforce is seeking an experienced Database Engineering Manager for our client in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. This position is a 3 month contract to hire opportunity. Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply today.

What you'll be doing:

• Build and manage a team of top-notch engineers, analysts and architects
• Responsible for database operations including Database Administration, Database Architecture, Data Modeling, ETL, replication, and strategy
• Work with the team to enhance databases including data sources, data structures, data organization and data optimization
• Formulate and monitor policies, procedures and standards relating to database management to ensure compliance
• Provide analytical support and conduct data mining/complex multiple variable analysis
• Identify complex issues and see them through to resolution with minimal oversight
• Oversee data QA functions to ensure accuracy of business rules defi ned and data integrity
• Proactively identify issues and trends through data analysis and manipulation

Specific Qualifications (required unless noted otherwise):

• A minimum of a BA or BS Degree with a concentration in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or other related technical discipline
• A minimum of eight years work experience in technology
• A minimum of five years in database development
• At least two years managing and directing database development or project teams
• In-depth knowledge of the SDLC as well as through knowledge of design technologies and tools
• Ability to work independently and be flexible within a team environmen t
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Mongo, Solr, and PHP
• Ability to deliver under high-pressure situations
• Advanced SQL performance tuning and the ability to teach said tuning skills to teams
• Data Modeling and Design expertise
• Knowledge of healthcare industry and/or related healthcare services experience is a plus
