Sr. Programmer Analyst
The candidate ' s primary responsibilities are to support functional enhancements to the DVS (Distributed Vision Services) and GSB (Global Service Bus) applications. The DVS system provides enterprise-wide Middleware services to enable VZW tier 1 application to access Vision Billing and Customer information system in Mainframe. The GSB is the entry point of all tier 1 application service requests. It supports the routing of the traffic, encryption and decryption of the payload, service authorization and authentication, and payload transformation. The candidate must be able to handle development/programming tasks with high level of complexity. He/she must be able to analyze user requirements and develop assigned projects using the following technologies: Java/J2EE in UNIX/AIX environment, XML, PL/SQL, Shell Script. The candidate must have very good interpersonal and communication skills and complete assignments on time. This position will work under the direction and supervision of senior systems analyst and management. He/she must perform problem resolution activities according to established procedures and makes supervised decisions that impact assignments. The candidate should be able to proactively communicate task status and issues to the manager. He/she must successfully complete all relevant technical and professional training programs in accordance with Performance Agreement goals and objectives. Performs medium to large size technical tasks with average to high level of complexity. Performs analysis, resolves problems, and monitors to proactively prevent problems from occurring. Performs technical evaluation of products. Supervision on complex tasks may be necessary. Demons trates good technical and design skills. Has knowledge of standards and procedures. Demonstrates significant subject matter expertise and business knowledge. Gather requirements, design architectural diagrams, develop, install, configure, and implement technical software solutions in various distributed environments. Demonstrates ability to analyze, proactively manage systems. Performs Analysis, resolves problems and monitors to proactively prevent problems from occurring. Regularly performs technical evaluation of products. Occasionally leads staff members and peers. Supervision on complex tasks may be necessary. Develops solutions and makes decisions that impact projects and staff members. Architects scalable J2EE environment for Production and Pre-Production environments. Implement, analyze, and modify systems for various applications. Availability:
Responsible to support 24/7availabilty and technical support to a highly available production system. Closely work with WebSphere Admin team and other upstream application development teams. Support load testing and performance monitoring tests for new and existing applications.
Problem resolution:
Independently work with vendors, Internal developers and end users to resolve problems. Work as part of production support team for system related issues. Provide high-level technical assistance to application development teams. Implement complex internal enhancements in Java, SQL, Scripts working with IT counter parts and vendors to gain scalability, performance, and the availability of DVS systems. Maintenance and code deployment of all existing DVS, GSB, and RSA applications Lead junior members and work with peers on projects that are internal and enterprise releas e works by managing development and test project plan, design system architecture and running development status meetings to identify problems and implement the right solutions. Problem analysis and debugging for production as well as testing phase of software development life cycle for DVS, GSB, and RSA applications 24/7 support for Sev 1 calls for DVS and GSB production environments to check server health by using existing system performance/monitoring tools then report them in production outage bridge.
Qualifications:
4+ years working experience in Java, EJB, Web based Application design, development, test and implementation. Highly proficient with WebSphere development environment. Ability to evaluate, install, test, configure, maintain, and monitor performance of and troubleshoot DVS applications. A good understanding of concepts related to application scaling and performance concepts. Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills in J2EE, Web based develo pments (JSP, HTML) Thorough understanding of Java/J2EE concepts (JDBC, JMS/MQ, JSP, EJB, JNDI, etc) is required. Good knowledge of Database concepts such as Oracle and PL/SQL. Understanding of security concepts and their application on the WAS environment. Ability to follow, improve and create processes required for effective software development life cycle process. Exceptional organizational, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to provide high-level technical assistance to application development teams. On-call support for 24x7 applications will be required. J2EE knowledge and Java development skill is a must
Education:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Information Systems. 4+ years of information systems experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Strong programming and analytical skills PC litera cy, including desktop applications competency (eg, Microsoft Office, e-mail, etc.). Strong business knowledge and interpersonal skills. In-depth knowledge of information systems concepts. Strong knowledge of applicable methodologies, tools, standards, and procedures. Demonstrated decision-making and leadership abilities. Strong organizational and problem solving abilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills
