Front End Java Developer

A large and well-established company offering products for home improvement is seeking a Front End Java Developer to help completely rebuild their new website from beginning to end! They are looking for a contract to hire or direct hire candidates!

Job Description:
• Front End Developer who can turn comprehensive layouts into functioning websites and web applications using recognized best practices for performance and cross-browser compatibility.
• Work collaboratively with the it Digital/Web Development team and its internal customers to bring creative ideas to life by translating design comps accurately and seamlessly into standard-compliant Web code

Responsibilities:
• Write Front End code and develop assets to realize complex designs and interactions while staying true to the creative vision 
• Participate in early stages of co ncept development and brainstorming 
• Adhere to and maintain clear Front End development standards and related documentation 
• Identify issues and provide suggestions to improve the overall quality of all web sites.  
• Provide input in adding new features and interactive content to support overall business objectives and projects. 
• Develop working prototypes and interaction models of web-based applications with a strong focus on clarity, maintainability, cross-browser compatibility, and performance while working with the Quality Assurance team to verify solutions against project requirements 
• Follow approved prototypes to create fully functional interactive experiences, web applications and template pages utilizing HTML, CSS, JQuery, JavaScript, AJAX, XML 
• Have a working knowledge of JSP technology and some experience working with FatWire and Oracle WebCenter 
• Work with the Back End web development te am to incorporate Front End code into the Back End systems. 
• Provide Front End technical support to the Back End development team serving as the liaison to the Back End developers, vendors, and business representatives for web related projects 
• Trouble-shoot and resolve technical issues related to the front-end.

Qualifications and Requirements:
• 3 - 4 years of Front End development experience on large-scale or web application platforms
• Must be an expert at hand coding W3C standards-compliant XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS-based table-free layouts
• Demonstrated expertise in utilizing HTML, HTML 5, CSS, CSS 3, JQuery, JavaScript, AJAX, XML, JSON, SVN
• Experience in ActionScript, JW Player, JSP or equivalent Back End language a plus
• Experience and understanding of mobile development, responsive/adaptive design, SEO best practices, CMS, E-commerce, social media integration and agile development techniques
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences of technical and non-technical personnel orally and in writing. Able to present design rationales to a non-technical audience.
• Self motivated; able to organize and manage multiple tasks and projects with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated experience in working within a dynamic team environment and collaborate effectively with customers, business representatives and the technical community.  Excellent customer service skills with the ability to respond quickly, competently, and decisively to issues as they arise.  
• Demonstrated experience in exceptional customer service focus, including attention to producing quality results with a willingness to work towards the overall success of the project.
