Informatica Developer

Announcing a one-year assignment for a Senior Informatica Developer in downtown Atlanta. We are seeking candidates with the ability to take the logical dimensional data model and use ETL skills to load the dimensional physical layer from various sources including DB2 on z/OS, SQL Server, Oracle, MS Access, etc.  An understanding of how complex data should be transformed from the source and loaded into the Datawarehouse is a critical part of this job.

Job Responsibilities: 
design, develop, test, maintain and support complex data extract, transformation and load (ETL) programs for an Enterprise Datawarehouse using Informatica Power Center 9.0.  

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Collaborate with business users to capture define business requirements and contribute to defining the Datawarehouse architecture (data models, data analysis, data sourcing and data integrity
• Analyzing source data for potent ial data quality issues and addressing these issues in ETL procedures
• Develop technical design documents and mappings specifications to build Informatica Mappings to load data into target tables adhering to the business rules
• Design, develop and organize complex Informatica mappings, sessions and workflows.
• Provide support for existing systems and work on new development initiatives simultaneously
• Actively participate in design and analysis sessions to ensure sound team decision-making
• Support system and user acceptance testing activities, including issue resolution.
• Complete technical documentation to ensure system is fully documented
• Mentor and train IT staff by sharing knowledge, best practices and lessons learned from past implementation efforts
• Design and develop Extract Transform and Load (ETL) and Data Integration (ETL) solutions for complex functional and technical requirements using Informatica PowerCenter Version 9.0 and 9.1.
• Design and develop ETL using CDC using Power Exchange 9.1 in Mainframe DB2 environment.
• Demonstrate hands-on experience in design and development of Informatica based solutions.
• Demonstrate in-depth understanding of Data Warehousing (DWH) and ETL concepts, ETL loading strategy
• Hands on experience with Complex mappings from varied transformation logics like Connected and Unconnected Lookups, Router, Aggregator, Joiner, Update Strategy etc
• Experience in using Informatica Mapping/Session/Worklet/Workflow variables and parameters, running Informatica Workflows in RHEL unix.
• Experienced in Testing, Debugging, Validation and Performance Tuning of ETL Architecture, help develop optimum solutions for Informatica deliverables and Table portioning in DB level.
• Involved in migration of objects in all phases (DEV, QA and PRD) of project and trained developers to maintain system when in produc tion.
• Exposure in Data Modeling using Star/Snowflake Schema Design, Data Marts, Relational and Dimensional Data Modeling, Slowly Changing Dimensions, Fact and Dimensional tables, Physical and Logical data modelling using Erwin.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years experience working with Informatica Power Center
• Ability to design and develop complex Informatica mappings, sessions, workflows and identify areas of optimizations
• Ability to design logical and multi-dimensional data models
• Experience with Oracle RDBMS 10g or 11g
• Strong communication skills (both oral and written) and the ability to work effectively in a team environment  are required
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or seven to 10 years of IT related experience.
• Proven ability and desire to mentor/coach others in a team environment
• Strong analytical, problem solving and presentation skills

Des ired Skills:

• Working knowledge with Informatica Change Data Capture installed on DB2 z/OS
• Working knowledge of Informatica Power Exchange
• Experience with relational, multidimensional and OLAP techniques and technology.
• Experience with OBIEE tools version 10.X
