Senior Financial Analyst-Jurisdictional Reporting, Waltham Massachusetts, Contract

As an Analyst you will be part a team that support the annual business planning process for the jurisdiction while providing support to the jurisdiction internal and external decision making. You will be accountable for leading the analysis which supports their specific jurisdictional area of responsibility, and you will support the Director in serving the needs of the Jurisdictional Presidents as well as supporting the reporting needs of the Jurisdictional Finance Teams.

Responsibilities:

Play a critical role in the monthly management reporting process for Jurisdictional Finance, leading the development of the necessary deliverables within the established deadlines.

Prepare management reporting (actual variances, budget, forecast plan) for income statements, balance sheet and cash flow statements which are in compliance with US GAAP, IFRS and all regulatory reporting requirements for inclusion in monthly quarterly management reporting.

Provide analytical support on various analysis that identify how different scenarios may impact the Jurisdictional businesses and overall financial position while understanding the impact that these may have on both short and long term objectives.

Develop effective relationships with teams such as Revenue Analysis, Regulation Pricing, Accounting, Corporate Reporting Planning and Decision Support Finance to ensure that regulatory financial aspects are understood.

Monitor and review actual and forecasted financial performance, taking the lead on identifying issues and areas that need further follow up and review.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business and/or a recognised accountancy qualification (eg CPA).

5+ years of progressive finance experience

Knowledge of relevant industry practice and legislation. Knowledge of current trend s within the industry and developments in legislation or regulation.

Knowledge of planning and management reporting processes preferred

Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS preferred

Proficient in relevant software eg Microsoft Office products, PeopleSoft/Business Objects, Oracle/DataMart.

Must have demonstrated an ability to work in a team environment with strong leadership qualities
