Application Developer Architect, .NET, C#, SQL, T-SQL, ASP.NET, OOD, SOA

My client is looking for an experienced .NET Developer/Architect for a 6 month rolling contract based in New York. Rates on offer are between $80-100 per hour.

The ideal candidate will have a very strong C# development background as well as extensive database development background. The candidate should have solid architectural knowledge and be familiar with various design patterns and OOD concepts.

Job Responsibilities:

• Architect solutions that are scalable, reliable and flexible utilizing the latest Microsoft based technologies 
• Develop architectural frameworks that can be leveraged across multiple applications sharing the same core functionality 
• Ensure compliance with company's solution architecture framework 
• Perform heavy development work in SQL Server using T-SQL and stored procedures 
• Design databases utilizin g appropriate relational design techniques and levels of normalization for optimal flexibility, performance and scalability 
• Develop new applications utilizing .NET technologies - C#, ASP.NET, WF, .NET Framework 3.x, WCF and SQL Server among others 
• Develop programming specifications, logic flow charts, and process diagrams 
• Work towards aggressive release schedules for multiple applications, including, but not limited t Underwriting, Rules Engines, Claims, Policy Admin systems 
• Establish processes and procedures to comply with IT standards, enforcing development standards, and ensuring good SDLC in accordance with IT practices 
• Validate requirements, analysis and design with users 
• Collaborate with business personnel to define requirements for projects 
• Conduct frequent peer and code reviews 

Required Skills:

• 10+ years of IT experience 
• At least five years' exper ience developing complex architecture and implementing via agile development methodology 
• Heavy background with .NET specific architecture 
• Strong background in application architecture, software development, systems implementations and vendor management 
• Very strong experience and knowledge in SOA and building a strong SOA architecture  
• Ideally, the candidate will be familiar with the latest .NET 4.0 features - Code Contracts, Dynamic Language Runtime, Covariance/Contravariance, Tuples and Managed Extensibility Framework (MEF) 
• Experience working with CTO, CIO and other C-Level executives, identifying their requirements and working with them to provide solutions that enable the business 
• Solid understanding and extensive experience with multiple development methodologies and which are best to utilize in various software dev scenarios - Agile, RUP, XP, Waterfall et al 
• Technical skills must include .NET 3.0 or later, C#, ASP.NET, WF, T-SQL, SQL Server 2005+ and utilization of Web Services 
• 5+ years of experience developing in SQL Server with a strong knowledge of T-SQL 

Beneficial Skills:

• Extensive knowledge and experience in application integration via Middleware solutions
• Experience with TIBCO as a data bus architecture, or some other type of COTS + custom Middleware solution
