AS400 Programmer

Atlanta, GA

Initial 6 month contract to perm role

Essential duties include:

• Develop, test, check and debug software programs as required on IBM AS400 using RPG400 plus RPG ILE. Assist with outside resources where necessary
• Expert in iSeries and DB2 software development technologies.
• Solid experience in RPGIV/ILE, CLLE, DDS, SQL, Embedded SQL, IFS, Procedures, Service Programs, API Calls
• Sound software architecture and design skills. Creation of technical models and documentation
• Ability to analyze business requirements, propose technical solutions, perform scoping and estima tion of projects
• Excellent troubleshooting skills, ability to lead off-shore based teams
• Ability to define and enforce coding standards, ensure on-time delivery of quality product within budget
• Ability to manage complex projects into day-to-day work assignments for off-shore teams
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively with both internal and external partners while consistently meeting deadlines with high quality deliverables
• Troubleshoots and debugs existing code.
• Develops conversion and system implementation plans; implements newly created code and fixes into existing software.

Requirements:

• Two year degree required; however, bachelors' degree in computer science preferred.
• Two years' experience in system analysis, design and p rogramming
• Working knowledge of the AS400, RPG III, RPG ILE, RPG Free, SQL, Stored Procedures

Additional Notes from the client:

Desires someone who can hit the ground running and code programs. We are not looking for someone who is currently limited to maintenance or a big fixer. We definitely desire someone who is capable of writing programs/coding and even making upgrades. We would like to see someone demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines with high quality deliverables!

Financial background or exp a plus.

Stored procedures exp a plus

Desire a leader who has good communication and social skills...a "go to" person.
