Job Summary:
- The Senior Network Engineer will provide architectural and implementation best practices for the company's wired and wireless networks to ensure maximum performance, reliability and security for its enterprise applications and sites.
Job Responsibilities:
- This person will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the Cisco routers, Switches and firewalls for mission-critical enterprise applications.
- Performance, system uptime, security, capacity planning and scalability are the primary objectives for delivering highly available applications and sites for the business.
- Other responsibilities include maintenance of all hardware and software used to service the client staff, customers, and support teams.
- The position provides technical expertise in support of all business and IT sponsored projects and provides direction, support and mentoring to other technical staff for related network technologies.
- Design mission-critical and scalable network infrastructure for multi-datacenter live/live configuration.
- Participate in selection, evaluation and deployment of emerging technologies.
- Review existing network designs and help identify areas to continue to build upon or improve.
- Troubleshoot network issues in any manifestation and document resolutions.
- Work with a core team to establish design principles and standards for all network components and configurations.
- Document (both narrative and diagram) the network architecture and design principles.
- Review and implement network security measures to achieve a highly secure environment.
- Participate in a 7x24 on-call rotation (2nd level).
Job Qualifications :
- Cisco certified (CCNP or higher).
- 5-10 years experience.
- Experience with BGP, OSPF, HSRP, EIGRP, and familiar with Anycast.
- Expert knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP protocol.
- Extensive design experience in building fault-tolerant and redundant networks.
- Aruba Networks wireless equipment and controllers.
- Cisco Nexus family of Switches (2000 series, 5000 series and 7000 series).
- Cisco 6500 series Switches (6509 with SUP 720).
- Cisco ASR 1000 series routers.
- Cisco ASA 5500 series firewalls.
- Cisco MDS 9000 series fiber channel switches.
- Cisco UCS 6120xp fabric interconnect.
- Cisco UCS 2104xp fabric extenders.
- Cisco WAAS is a plus.
- Cisco OTV is a plus.
- HP TippingPoint IPS is a plus.
- SolarWinds Orion.
- Hitachi AMS 2100/2500 knowledge is a plus.
- Able to perform on-call duties and after-hours work as necessary.
