Technology Project Manager, Jersey City, NJ, Contract

Kforce is seeking a Technology Project Manager for a Jersey City, New Jersey client. In the role of Technology Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects and ensuring project delivery is on time, on budget, on scope and within quality constraints. You will be responsible for project execution, interaction with, and managing the Line of Business relationships. The candidate must be able to demonstrate an extensive and successful history in effectively managing large complex projects within a large firm similar in size and scope to our client.

This includes demonstration of the following skills across multiple simultaneous projects:

  • Creation and submission of business case to obtain project financial approval
  • Tracking and variance reporting of project costs
  • Creation of detailed project charter that clearly defines project goals and objectives, governance structure, and all roles and responsibilities
  • Creation of project plans with defined milestones that identify the project critical path
  • Identification of project and development of project schedule, resources and/or identification of scheduling conflicts
  • Proactive management of resource load, work breakdown structures, issue/risk tracking and resolution, and project execution
  • Direct business or domain knowledge of the Banking industry specifically Management Reporting, GL, or Regulatory Accounting, Finance or Financial Operations functions
  • Ensure change control processes are in place and adhered to, managing and documenting changes to project scope and impact to plan
  • Communicate with all levels of management and staff relating to project status, issues, and risks
  • Analyze project risks, costs, and benefits and make relevant recommendations to steering committee and senior management
  • Function as an escalation point to keep all parties aware of overall project impact; facilitating management decisions at the earliest possible time
The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise):
  • Minimum 6-8 years of IT Project Management experience required (managing projects of $2-$5 million or less) with a proven track record in managing large scale projects across multiple functional areas
  • Ability to coordinate projects with an assertive, consultative, and style
  • Proven experience in creating efficiencies that heavily contribute to multiple projects
  • Experience with projects in multiple technologies, functions and/or industries
  • Must be flexible and able to work in deadline driven, fast paced environment
  • Experience managing geographically distributed and culturally diverse work-groups
  • Knowledge of outsourcing methodologies and operating models
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to eff ectively communicate at multiple levels within the organization
  • Ability to develop presentation materials and deliver presentations to different audiences and levels of management in an effective manner
  • Direct experience or exposure to working with Financial Applications and experience with application development processes and development techniques is a plus
  • Strong analytic and troubleshooting skills
  • Proficient using Internet, PC, MS Office, Clarity
  • Strong knowledge of the PLC processes
  • Must show adherence to standard project execution practices
