Yoh has a contract opportunity for a Front End Developer to join our client in New York City, NY.

Job Overview:

This contract position reports to the Director of Technology is responsible for the development of front ends of Web, mobile and other multi-platform applications conceived and developed by the Team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a cross disciplinary environment (eg editors, designers ), have multi-platform experience with current digital technologies (eg online, mobile, iPhone, OTT ) and be enthusiastic to pioneer new digital entertainment services that engage, connect and inspire.

Job Responsibilities:
- Code, test, and troubleshoot software using the appropriate tools under the limited guidance of a lead engineer
- Follow accepted coding standards and best practices, using Agile software development methodologies
- Assist in maintaining existing software systems, including bug fixes, enhancements, documentation and miscellaneous maintenance
- Demonstrate clear progress, persistence and creativity in seeking solutions to problems and a desire for advancement
- Keep up to date with new technologies and standards while taking pride and ownership in his or her code, making it the best and the most efficient possible

Job Qualifications:
- Web/graphic design background
- Minimum 3 years of experience coding semantically-correct, standards-compliant websites with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Demonstrated proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, and pure JavaScript
- Understanding of mobile development best practices (ie responsive design, progressive enhancement, graceful degradation)
- 3 years of industry or consulting experience
- Ability to code solid cross-platform experiences

Preferred Job Skills/Experience/Knowledge:
- Cross-platform mobile web development experience (iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone 7, webOS, etc)
- Strong JavaScript experience: familiarity with various JavaScript frameworks, Ajax/JSON, and gesture/touch-based JavaScript
- Extensive knowledge of web optimization principles
- Attention to detail and enthusiasm and positive attitude for solving problems
- Effective verbal and written skills, communicating in a responsive, timely, and professional manner
- Demonstrated ability to work well with other team members, especially non-technical
- and learn from colleagues
- Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Motivated, self-starter, independent, results oriented and professional
