SharePoint Architect in New York, New York, Negotiable, Permanent

On behalf of our client, a big international company which works within safety and security solutions, we are looking for a highly experienced SharePoint Architect for a permanent position based in New York.

You will work directly with business stakeholders to collect their requirements for document management, SharePoint applications, knowledge management and other SharePoint features. A key function will be to document the requirements and propose SharePoint based solutions to address the corporate needs. This may include the introduction of third party tools or changing the engineering of the SharePoint farm.

Responsibilities
Ensures that the farm designs are optimal to meet corporate needs
Customises SharePoint master pages and branding to meet corporate standards
Ensures stable performance of the infrastructure environment, identifying, resolving or escalating issues
Keeps SharePoint environment up-to-date and secured
Pr oposes and leads changes to SharePoint architecture to ensure that business needs (features and performance) are met
Configures and maintains document libraries, lists, and WSS site collections
Deploys SharePoint at the enterprise level in a distributed global environment
Interviews business users and documents their needs and requirements
Follows internal release management processes to deploy the features, sites and tools required
Reviews and assists in managing SQL server 2005 and 2008 that supports SharePoint installation
Maintains security policy
International travel will be required

Education/Certification Requirements
Bachelor degree in computer related field
Microsoft SharePoint server certification

Skills and Experience
SharePoint 2010 and all related technologies
Visual Studio and .NET programming
SQL 2005 and 2008 administration
Some SQL Scripting
