The Senior Database Administrator participates in the overall database system design, development and implementation and must be able to provide 24x7 support. This role is responsible for capacity planning, performance tuning, business continuity and monitoring. This will include assisting developers with data modelling, SQL/PLSQL development and tuning. This role is located in New York, New York.
Responsibilities also include:
- Maintain changes across all environments and ensuring schemas remain consistent
- Lead medium to large size database administrations project
- Participate in the design and architecture of the database systems.
- Produce policies and procedures relating to security and auditing of schema changes
- Maintain documentation of all databases including entity relationship diagrams, data dictionaries and standard operation procedures
- Expert Oracle administration in production application environment (11g RAC)
- Strong SQL/PLSQL programming background
- Strong understanding of high availability and load balanced solutions
- Strong understanding of Oracle system data for auditing, troubleshooting and monitoring
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Scripting experience (Perl, Bash)
