Our Braintree, Massachusetts client is seeking a Telephony Engineer within their IT Department. This is a great opportunity for experienced professionals seeking a new challenge to work with a converged IP network (Avaya and Cisco). The selected Engineer must be a solid problem solver and troubleshooter and possess the resources to find answers to daily networking and telephony problems. Our top priority is customer/user satisfaction, professionalism, and the ability to work well independently as well as in a team setting. This position will report to the Network and Telephony Team Lead.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support Avaya Communications Manager S8800, Intuity Audix LX, and Aura Messaging Servers
  • Program system configurations of the Avaya IP Telephony System
  • Manage and support TASKE Call Center Management applications and TapIt Nova Call Accounting applications
  • Add or delete digital/analog PBX System trunk lines includ ing T1s and cOs
  • Provide detailed voicemail support including, but not limited to programming hardware and software system configurations (Intuity/Aura Messaging) and upgrades
  • Proficient in fundamental aspects of network engineering: design, implementation, monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of network and telecom circuits and provisioning from start to finish
  • Configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot Cisco Routers and Switches
  • Utilize advanced knowledge and experience with converged networks specifically Cisco and Avaya
  • Experience with web and audio conferencing platforms
  • Some network security foundation is essential
  • Nights and weekend support will be required
  • After hours support will also be required
The successful Engineer applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise):
  • A Bachelor's Degree in IT or related major is preferred and /or equivalent technical certifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Avaya equipment - Intuity/Aura Messaging and Communication Manager 5.x or higher
  • Avaya Certification in PBX with programming knowledge is a plus
  • CCNA Certification is a plus
