Solution Developer

Our client, a major electronic commerce company located in New York, NY, is seeking a Solution Developer - EDI. This individual works on global, virtual teams to reach out to potential and existing collaboration partners dedicated to enhancing global network of buyer/supplier relationships. This high visibility role provides an opportunity to interact with customers, partners, and internal teams. The ideal candidate is a strong customer and partner advocate who understands EDI/messaging and trading relationships in the apparel, footwear and retailer space.

The Buyer Acquisition Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Delivering the buyer focused value proposition of new vendor focused product
  • Facilitating collection of EDI documents and requirements from the buyer to the solution development team
  • Building strong relationships with a variety of contacts within buyer side collaboration partners
  • Developing relationships w ithin the executive sourcing leadership as well as the technical teams
  • Communicating directly with buyers and their trading partner(s) throughout the implementation process
  • Responsible for communicating project status and resolving technical or business issues during implementation of the product suite to the buyer side collaboration partner
  • Providing a high level of service, support, and follow-up to earn the confidence from the buyer side collaboration partner
  • Talking with buyers and gathering requirements of what they are looking for
Ideal candidates will possess the following background and experience:
  • Must come from an EDI company such as SPS, GXS, Inovis, Sterling, EZLink, B2B Gateway; this is a pre-sales position for a new product that deals with EDI and raw materials management
  • Some travel may be required (mostly domestic and maybe some international since the team is based in Hong Kong)
  • Looking for someone moving up the ladder with 7-10 years' experience
  • At least 3 years, preferably over 5 years of working experience in an EDI company with exposure to setting up trading pair relationships and project coordination
  • Experience in managing relationship between parties with different and sometimes conflicting perspectives
  • Working knowledge of Software as a Service (SaaS) design with a sound understanding of B2B integration technologies
  • Experience in the apparel, footwear and retailer industries
  • Supply Chain and or Global Transportation experience is a plus
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Effective problem solving abilities
  • Education: Bachelor's degree/MBA preferred
