The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, testing, implementing, and supporting data network infrastructure.
Located in Atlanta, Georgia, this position has the following functions:
- Provides consultation and direct technical support in life cycle planning, problem management, integration, and network configuration
- Responsible for project planning and designing of scale-able data network infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements for a high availability network
- Develops and defines data network architecture which incorporates standards, practices, processes, and products for the enterprise
- Leads teams and provides consultation and direct technical support in life cycle planning, problem management, integration, and network configuration
- Ensures network performance and availability meet enterprise objectives for timely service restoration and tuning
- Drives the direction for the devel opment and define network architecture which incorporates standards, practices, processes, and products for the enterprise
- Associate's degree in an IT field
- 6 years of applicable experience in the following network related areas: design, analysis, Local Area Network (LAN), and Wide Area Network (WAN)
- Skills in optimizing networks, MPLS and Internet services, Cisco Layer 2 3 switching, Cisco Nexus/6500 platforms, and OSPF/BGP Routing Protocols
- Sniffer/Internet protocol analysing is desirable
- Previous airline experience is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Technical expertise to apply relevant technical processes to appropriate business needs
- Ability to provide onsite and on-call 7x24x365 support as needed
