Role/Purpose:

The Product Manager is responsible for the delivery and support of the Content Marketplace People and Authority. Specifically, this individual will be responsible for:

  • Creating and communicating roadmaps
  • Prioritizing, sizing and approving projects and enhancements
  • Coordinating product development and data base enhancements
  • Writing related specifications and project documentation
  • Interfacing with divisions and strategic business units to understand their business needs
  • Coordinating with products to ensure the timely and consistent delivery of people content

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Collects, analyzes and synthesizes data to document requirements, and translates into detailed technology needs and formal specifications, ensuring the needs of stakeholders and business are met.
  • Manages the support and enhancement of People Authority access layers, including SDIs, Web Services and Data Marts.
  • Manages the People Authority Data Item Registry (DIR).
  • Reviews business and product needs, instructions, regulations, and laws for complex projects; implements these changes into software using intermediate level programming skills, testing, and providing support to customers as required.
  • Wor ks with development team to estimate costs for software and hardware enhancements, including sizing incremental and ongoing funding for the development and support of People Authority systems.
  • Creates and maintains documentation, including business requirements, functional and technical specifications, process maps and dataflow diagrams, and use cases and design documentation.
  • Makes technical solution recommendations to meet requirements based on understanding of how technical solutions will impact the business and stakeholders.
  • Coordinates user interface, database, delivery and product enhancements with the project management and development teams.
  • Works with business analysts and operations team validate software enhancements, including user experience, acceptance and functional testing.
  • Works with product groups, clients, vendors and channel partners on the integration of the People Authority.
  • Identifies, develops, and implements opportunities to improve processes and/or services. Provides recommendations for business and process improvements.
  • Ensures change management and communication of changes to team and/or clients is done in a systematic way.

Technical/Professional Skills Competencies:

  • Business (People Authority, Content Marketplace) Knowledge
  • Intermediate knowledge of SQL, Oracle, Java, .NET, XML, FFT, FTP, API and other technologies

Qualifications

Education

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Masters and/or MBA a plus
- Certifications in technology, finance and project management a plus

Required Skills:

  • At least 5+ years experience as a data/content specialist, senior business analyst, product manager, project manager, operations manager, software developer or consultant
  • Excellent communication and presentati on skills including the ability to influence and negotiate
  • Strong writing skills and experience drafting technical documentation and requirements specifications
  • Strong technical and business analysis skills, including database design and querying, user interface design and specification, and data delivery, process mapping, data flow and use case creation
  • Deep interest in Finance, Risk/Fraud, Legal and Science, and Technology
  • Familiarity with Thomson Reuters products, including EIKON, CLEAR, WestLaw, ThomsonOne, PeopleMaps, Datascope, Datastream, and Elektron, among others

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Masters and/or MBA a plus
  • Certifications in technology, finance and project management a plus
