PC Technician Level 1, Canton, MA, Contract

The PC Technician is responsible for the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of PCs and related equipment. This person will install desktop software and hardware as well as troubleshoot software and hardware failures.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (the primary responsibilities of the PC Technician are):

• Install, modify, and configure computer hardware and software systems
• Resolve PC desktop issues/problems regarding software and hardware
• Provide technical assistance to PC and network users
• Help track and inventory PC and related equipment
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating system and application software on PCs
• Under supervision, install network cabling and communication devices
• Troubleshoot general telephone issues
• Carry out other tasks as required

The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted ot herwise):

• 1+ year of technical computer training or 1+ year of related work experience
• An Associate's Degree is preferred
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies
• Familiarity with hardware and software diagnostic procedures
• Familiarity with Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of printers and cabling
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
