Business Analyst/Project Manager, Cambridge, MA, Contract

Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the Business Analyst/Project Manager will have the opportunity to work on various projects supporting Oncology RD.

Initial projects are related but not limited to:

  • Target screening, identification and validation systems and workflows
  • Use of SharePoint to address Oncology communications and collaboration needs
  • Systems and workflows
Duties include:
  • Working with Oncology researchers and IS support staff to understand business problems; this may include improvements on existing systems, processes and operations
  • Proactively gathering requirements, analysing needs and clearly presenting proposals to researchers and management to address issues or improve the business of Oncology RD
  • Architecting technical solutions by working with senior technical staff or provide directly depending upon experience
  • Managing projects to ensure deliverables are met within budget and timelines while ensure that a high quality solution is provided
The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise):
  • Strong PM and/or BA skills and experience
  • Broad understanding of IT technologies, systems and operations
  • Experience with relational databases (basic SQL skills and modelling concepts) is preferred
  • Experience with or knowledge of LIMS or ELN systems supporting research biology or chemistry is preferred
  • Exposure to scientific application used for reporting, visualization or analysis is preferred, eg Spotfire, Pipeline Pilot, and Matlab
  • Exposure to drug discovery process, in either biology or chemistry
  • Strong communications and networking skills
  • BA skills in requirements elicitation and analysis expected
  • Ability to work seamlessly between scientists, drug development project teams, other application support personn el and infrastructure personnel
  • Flexibility, especially as related to changing requirements and needs
  • Expectation to learn internal waterfall-based methodology
  • Knowledge and experience in Agile or Rapid Prototyping considered a plus
  • Experience in vendor management
  • PMP or IIBA certifications considered is a plus
