In this position, you will help administer applications based on Oracle technologies such as ensuring proper backups are done, help with cloning non-production environmen ts, support the production trouble tickets etc. in a large global environment. You will also help with the migration of data, setups, responsibilities, menus and other setups as necessary. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plans, coordinates, and administers Oracle 11.x and MS SQL databases, including base definition, structures, documentation, upgrades, capacity requirements, operational guidelines and protection.
- Establishes and maintains security integrity controls.
- Monitors policies, procedures and standards relating to database management.
- Receives, investigates, troubleshoots and resolves software problems associated with Customer Facing Managed Services Systems. As necessary, works remotely with on-site with IT staff, contractors, vendors and users to resolve problems.
- Coordinates installations with users, facility planning, IT technicians, contractors, and vendors.
- Helps with the data archival implementation in our Managed Services business
- Help re-organize production databases and improve performance after major archival effort.
- Acts to ensure and act as a catalyst to enforce the Change Control Process.
- Ensure the Backups are good; by frequently help restore/recover them as per our SOX control processes.
- Help resolve the user/technical issues with applications and their respective databases.
- Ensure the security of these applications databases by applying the quarterly fixes released by Oracle Corporation, Microsoft and other vendors.
- Help with the DBA requests to clone/refresh various development databases.
- Install/configure/administer applications patches/fixes/new modules.
- Provides Pe rformance monitoring and Tuning.
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or related field.
- Oracle DBA Certification, completion of professional training program(s) or equivalent directly related experience.
- 3+ years of experience within specific area of Oracle applications Administration, core oracle database administration and support expertise.
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL
- Experience with Windows Server, UNIX, and/or Linux and Web Services.
- Knowledge of web servers, firewalls/security, NIS/NFS, DNS, MTAs, and TCP/IP networking.
- Experience in Enterprise Manager Grid Control and performance tuning and troubleshooting is a definite Plus.
- Experience troubleshooting issues supported on version of Oracle and SQL database
- Experience installing, configuring, backup, cloning, and upgrading Oracle and SQL databases. < li>Experience performing application patches and upgrades.
