In this hands on role, the Director of Software Development, will fearlessly and confidently drive new product development from product vision to execution. You'll have freedom to choose the right tools and technologies as you lead a small team of developers to design, develop and deploy scalable web-based software.

Job Responsibilities
As the Director of Software Development, you'll have strong business acumen to compliment your str ong architecture and software development knowledge in the web space. Some additional responsibilities includes
Responsible for overall system architecture, QA, security and day-to-day system operations
Manage technology projects from inception to completion
Provide team with leadership, mentoring, and regular code review
Utilize Lean Development methodology for providing fast and efficient delivery of services
Working closely with the VP, Product Strategy to chart product direction

Job Requirements
Versatile self starters will thrive in our environment and enjoy delivering innovative solutions. Some additional requirements include:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
Experience mentoring and leading a small team of s oftware engineers
Strong architecture background with 5-7 years of software development experience (in the web space) with Object Oriented languages (PHP, Ruby, Python, .NET, Java, etc.)
Strong knowledge and experience with version control and automated testing
Experience with transaction/batch processing and high-availability systems is helpful but not required
A combination of experience with:
Web Development (familiarity with HTML, CSS, JS, PHP, MVC Frameworks)
Traditional RDBMS databases (MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, etc.)
Version Control (good: CVS, SVN; better: GIT, Mercurial)
Unit and integration testing methodologies
Helpful: Working knowledge of LAMP stack (*nix, Apache, MySQL, PHP)
